Give a feedback for Nando's Sunway Pyramid

Nando’s as I said previously is they are not selling other things except chicken. They can provide you whole set of the dishes from appetizer to dessert, guess what you won’t bored even they just serve you chicken.

They provide the most simply way of cooking method of the chicken for their diners which is - Grilled chicken. Whether it sounds so very simply but it make your dining experience in the colorful way. What I mean is really simply. Yes the whole restaurant only serve you grilled chicken but you can choose what standard of the spicy level you want and which part of the chicken you want to serve by them as well. Let me give you the fully information about Nando’s.

Starters:

In Nando’s when it go to starters you get 2 choices, there are fire starters or salads. What is fire starters, which mean it serve it hot and what are they have the fire-starters. Their recommended dish is Chicken Livers and Portuguese Roll, besides the chicken livers they also provide chicken wing, hummus with Peri-peri Drizzle, Sweet Potato Chips with Perinaise and their Peri-peri Soup with Garlic Bread. If you prefer to have some salads I would like to recommended you their Algarve Salad or Caesar Salad, for their salad you can add on other ingredients such as Feta Cheese, Grilled Portuguese Roll,etc.

And today I would like to recommended you guys what am I tried in Nando’s Sunway Pyramid. I had a Peri-peri Soup, RM4.90 per portion, when I saw the price the first image is like normal creamy soup and I did not put too much expectation for the soup. But in the end I kinda surprised about it.This soup is a thick creamy soup and seasoning is really enough for me and the most surprising me is inside the soup you can find the chicken floss contain inside. Besides that, the smell just make you watering your mouth by your saliva.

Main Courses:

Most of the time I went to Nando’s I will like to order their ¼ Peri-peri chicken with 1 or 2 sides dishes. When you order the ¼ chicken the server will ask you about the spicy level (plain,lemon & herb,mango & lime, mild, hot, extra hot), which part of chicken you want ( thigh, breast), and the side dishes you can have a plenty of choice ( wedges, chips, garlic bread, red skin potato mashed, coleslaw, grilled vegetable, corn, spicy rice or mediterranean rice). Besides that, once you pay extra more 5 bucks you will get a free flow drink from specify drink list ( coke, sprite, ice lemon-tea, water, mermaid orange juice).

So this me and my dudes got 3 set of ¼ Peri-peri chicken and 1 set of chicken butterfly ( succulent of chicken breasts joined with crispy skin) and the side dishes we got chips, wedges and the red skin potato mashed. I do not have “user friendly spicy tongue” once my tongue touched the spicy food I might need fire extinguisher. But for Nando’s I will like to challenges their hot and I knew that is my maximum limit for my baby tongue. Every time I prefer to have mild for my chicken and grab the extra flavor sauce that provided from them at the bar. The extra sauce they provide get all the flavor that I mentioned before and garlic and ketchup as well. So please do not worry you will not feel enough stimulate for your life when you are in Nando’s.

Why Nando’s grilled chicken is my favourite pocket list because I had been there at least 15 times from April until November and I never get disappointed in their chicken. Some of the restaurant like to tout their own chicken is particularly juicy and very tender, first time you go might it is but after a few times the quality might just pop going down. Short of Nando’s I had not get disappointed in their chicken yet, every single time I went the chicken just right there and never overcook. On the other hand, the way they grilled the chicken by using the charcoal to replace the gas, as a chef and diner I respect that because the advantage they use charcoal so that the taste of chicken more rich and more sense of hierarchy. Like why currently people like to eat the toast by using charcoal rather than oven,this is the same reason. As we know the most difficult part of chicken to cook is breast because it get dry easily, but the chicken butterfly from Nando’s is still on point.

Other than that, Nando’s grilled chicken is not that oily than other restaurants. Normally when we finish the dish our plate will be stained with grilled chicken residue left in the oil. If there is a lot of oil that chicken is very greasy, we also feel guilty to eat heavy and very unhealthy. But it never happened for it and ever is their chips and wedges still did a good job. I will recommend their red skin potato mashed for you guys, the reason is the mashed potato we had from the fast food restaurant or other restaurant it taste too smooth which is bad because we will know it is not come from a real potato is from instant mashed potato powder. But this red skin potato mashed will make you love the mashed potato and build a high mashed potato required standard. Inside the red skin potato mashed you will realized they cannot lie on that because you can exactly see and eat the red potato skin ( which is edible, don’t worry), and you also eat small cube of potatoes in mashed potatoes.

Desserts

I had tried their red velvet cheesecake and brownies as well for me their dessert just in the “okay” zone. The red velvet cheesecake sweetness is acceptance and just need to moist a bit; the only one I do not have a high expectation is their brownies because I am not a chocolate lover, so if the chocolate too sweet or greasy I just get sick on that. But the brownies is actually acceptance from me, first of all is it look actually definitely dry and a sense of conflict because on the top of the brownies they spread chili flakes on it.

For me it is not an interesting plating or dessert for me to take my fork to try, so I asked my mates to have a bit and they facial expression actually surprises a little bit. So I had a bit, nope is a few bit is because I never know the chili flakes and the brownies match really well and it is not dry at all. If this two points they did not fail for me it is pass the “test“ then.

The overall of the food we had that day in Nando's I will like to give 4 out of 5, there are still have certain points or parts need to get improve on it.
